The California Conservation Corps (CCC) is seeking a motivated, customer-service-driven administrative professional to join our team as an Office Technician (OT) at our brand new, state-of-the-art Greenwood Residential Center! This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new chapter, working alongside a founding team to build a welcoming office environment and shape a vibrant center culture from day one.

As the central face and voice of our busy Administrative Unit, you will handle the essential day-to-day office operations that keep our Center running smoothly. Your daily responsibilities will include managing staff and corpsmember timesheets, organizing files, coordinating mail operations, and processing procurement data in FI$Cal. Most importantly, you will interact daily with our diverse group of young adult Corpsmembers as they train for careers in natural resources. In this role, your professional interactions, positive attitude, and support during their hiring and payroll onboarding will act as a vital form of professional mentorship.

Working Conditions

This position is classified as “In Office” and is not eligible for telework.

The selected incumbent will work on a beautiful, park-like residential center surrounded by scenic tree-lined properties and regular sightings of local wildlife, offering an inspiring natural backdrop to your workday. This position operates entirely on-site five days a week to provide essential face-to-face administrative support to our staff, visitors, and Corpsmembers. To help accommodate your schedule, the center offers flexible start and end times, which will be finalized upon a formal job offer. Candidates should expect a high-activity office environment that involves regular daily interactions with young adults, consistent computer work, and moving between center buildings for mail and document distribution.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests is available at the CalCareers.ca.gov website.

Typing Certificate - ability to type at a speed of not less than 40 words per minute from ordinary manuscript or printed or typewritten material.

Eligibility Information

1. List Eligibility – Successfully complete the civil service exam for the Office Technician (Typing) position. Please refer to the exam bulletin for the frequency of administration of this exam.
2. Transfer Eligibility – Must have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable. If in a different classification, you must meet the minimum qualifications (see Minimum Qualifications section and associated links above).
3. Reinstatement Eligibility – Previously obtained permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable. If in a different classification, you must meet the minimum qualifications (see Minimum Qualifications section and associated links above.
4. Training & Development (T&D) Assignment – State employees in a permanent appointment, and no longer on probation, may be considered for a T&D assignment.
