Lead Designer

A growing women’s fashion company is seeking an accomplished Lead Designer to lead the creative vision and development of its apparel collections. This role will be instrumental in shaping future product direction, elevating the brand aesthetic, and driving expansion into new categories. The ideal candidate brings a strong creative point of view, a deep understanding of the contemporary women’s market, and a proven track record of translating innovative concepts into commercially successful products. They will be equally comfortable leading concept development, mentoring teams, and collaborating cross-functionally to bring collections to market. Key Responsibilities Lead seasonal collection development from initial concept through final product execution. Establish a cohesive design direction across color, fabric, print, silhouette, and overall assortment architecture. Drive innovation while maintaining alignment with customer expectations, brand positioning, and business objectives. Analyze consumer behavior, competitive activity, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation. Partner closely with merchandising, product development, sourcing, and commercial teams throughout the product lifecycle. Present creative strategies, seasonal narratives, and product concepts to executive leadership. Mentor, develop, and inspire design talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performing creative culture. Contribute to long-term category expansion initiatives and the ongoing evolution of the brand. Qualifications Significant experience designing women’s apparel within a contemporary, premium, or luxury fashion environment. Strong background in elevated dressing, occasionwear, and fashion-forward collections. Exceptional eye for color, fabrication, fit, proportion, and overall product aesthetics. Demonstrated ability to balance creative excellence with commercial performance. Outstanding visual communication, sketching, and presentation skills. Proficiency in industry-standard design software. Strategic mindset with the ability to influence both product and business direction. Collaborative leadership style with experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
