Make a difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Paraprofessional for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. This rewarding contract opportunity is conveniently located near Stafford and Fredericksburg, VA, offering the chance to work full-time in a supportive school environment alongside dedicated educators.

As a full-time (37.5+ hours per week) paraprofessional, you’ll play a vital role on a K-12 caseload that includes supporting students with mild to moderate needs and providing 1:1 assistance. Collaborate with Special Education Teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure students receive the personalized help and encouragement they need to succeed in both academic and social settings.

Ideal candidates possess:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, especially in K-12 or special education settings
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility and a positive, patient approach when working with children

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting students with special needs during classroom activities and transitions
• Providing 1:1 and small group assistance as directed by the Special Education Teacher
• Assisting with implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Helping create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
• Maintaining accurate documentation on student progress and behavior
