Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

Overview We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II, also referred to as a Medical Technologist (Med Tech). The Clinical Lab Scientist II (CLS II) requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. They play an important role in the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN available. Shifts Available: Varied Employment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN) Location: Mission Regional Medical Center – Mission, TX Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare: Competitive compensation Medical insurance benefit plan 401K Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions; this may include routine tests as well as specialized tests. Interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care. Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing; you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into the laboratory information systems. Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements. Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline introduced into the laboratory. Qualifications ASCP certification, or equivalent preferred. Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience required. Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological, health science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution; or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1423). Current and valid state license if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
