Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mood disorder symptoms, including their intensity, frequency, and duration.

  • Work jointly with clients to devise customized treatment plans, focusing on their distinct objectives and needs.

  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address mood disorders.

  • Offer education and support to clients and their families concerning mood disorders, treatment alternatives, and self-care practices.

  • Continuously monitor clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed based on their evolving needs.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and comprehensive care.
  • \n
  • Stay informed of the latest developments and research in mood disorder treatments to enhance therapy techniques.
  • \n
  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in accordance with ethical and legal standards.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including workshops and training, to advance clinical skills.

  • Advocate for your clients by promoting awareness and reducing stigma related to mood disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role will be primarily on individuals suffering from various mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. You will play a pivotal role in contributing to the mental and emotional wellness of a diverse client base, including adolescents struggling with academic stress, depression, and anxiety as they navigate school environments.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment modalities specifically for mood disorders, such as CBT and DBT.
  • \n
  • Solid understanding of psychopharmacology and effective collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers.
  • \n
  • A proven track record of achieving successful therapy outcomes with clients facing mood disorders.
  • \n
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from varied backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

  • At least three years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, specifically dealing with mood disorders.

  • Experience working with adolescents in a school environment is highly preferred.
