Working collaboratively alongside pathologists' assistants, pathology specialists, and laboratory technicians, you'll help examine, dissect, and process specimens from routine biopsies to complex oncology and transplant cases. You'll assist with gross examination, tissue sampling, frozen section procedures, and intraoperative consultations to deliver timely, accurate information that helps guide surgical decisions. Job Description To perform all duties related to the preparation, distribution, cataloging, and storage of lab specimens for testing. To adhere to departmental specimen identification policies and quality controls. To utilize lab and hospital information systems and provide general administrative support to the laboratory staff in support of laboratory operations, such as filing, record maintenance, responding to client calls, and mail delivery. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Depending on the unit/department or if the position works directly with patients, Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required or required to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
