Production Machine Operator

Keys to Job: Associates degree or apprenticeship in Machine/Tool and Die Technology; ability to run and set up both conventional and CNC equipment; 3–5 years manufacturing experience; quality environment experience; strong problem-solving and communication skills. 2nd shift role with $2/hr differential. Ideal for a quality-focused machinist who enjoys special setups and continuous improvement. We are seeking a skilled Production Machine Operator - 2nd shift who is quality-focused and brings a continuous improvement mindset. In this role, you will support daily production by setting up and operating both CNC and conventional machines, working with a variety of materials and components, and handling special setups for custom projects. What You’ll Do: Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on mills, lathes, and drill presses. Calculate and set controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut, or enter and edit computerized machine control programs. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and make necessary adjustments. Verify finished workpieces against specifications and perform trial runs to confirm settings or programmed data. Assemble parts into complete assemblies and verify dimensions and alignment. Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and programmers to resolve machining or assembly issues. Build fixtures for drilling, milling, and turning operations. Review engineering, sales, and manufacturing inputs for accuracy and communicate any needed corrections to maintain consistent quality. Support and sustain 5S, quality, and safety initiatives. What We’re Looking For: Associate’s degree or completion of an apprenticeship in Machine/Tool and Die Technology (or equivalent experience).
