Come help us reach it!Mojang Studios is looking for a Head of Creator Monetization to lead the strategy, product direction, and team execution behind Minecraft's creator economy responsible for Minecoins. Minecraft is one of the world's most beloved games and creative platforms, with a global community of players, creators, developers, and partners who bring new experiences to life every day.Product leadership at Mojang sits at the center of game development, platform technology, data science, publishing, marketing, commerce, creator partnerships, and community insight. In this role, you will use product expertise, market perspective, and analytical judgment to identify the highest-leverage ways to grow Minecraft's creator ecosystem for players, creators, and the business.You will lead the teams responsible for building and operating the systems that help creators reach players, earn sustainable revenue, and reinvest in great content. You will own the product and business strategy across Marketplace, creator monetization, Minecoins, marketplace catalog strategy, creator revenue and payouts, economy analytics, and incentive systems. You will partner deeply across Creator Experience, Creator Growth & Discovery, Developer Relations, Bedrock Platform, Vanilla, Partnerships, Commerce, Finance, Data Science, and Marketing to ensure Minecraft's creator ecosystem is trusted, scalable, and thriving.This is a senior leadership role for someone who can operate at the intersection of product strategy, marketplace dynamics, platform ecosystems, economic design, data-driven decision making, and people leadership. You will be expected to set a clear vision, align cross-functional partners, manage leaders and teams, and deliver measurable impact for players, creators, and Minecraft's long-term business.ResponsibilitiesServe as the vision holder for Minecraft's creator monetization, defining a multi-year product and business strategy that aligns player value, creator success, marketplace quality, platform trust, and Minecraft's long-term growth.Lead and manage product teams across creator monetization surfaces, including Marketplace, Minecoins, creator revenue, catalog strategy, and monetization systems for current and future creator products.Own the operating model for creator compensation and incentives, including payout strategy, program health, forecasting, governance, experimentation, and ongoing economic operations.Build and scale high-performing teams, including managers and senior individual contributors, with clear charters, decision rights, accountability mechanisms, and durable planning rhythms.Use quantitative and qualitative insight to manage overall creator monetization health, including creator revenue, player engagement with creator-made content, conversion, retention, catalog quality, pricing effectiveness, and reinvestment behavior.Partner closely with data science, analytics, finance, and commerce teams to build a trusted source of truth for ecosystem health and translate complex analysis into executive-ready narratives and decisions.Partner with Creator Experience to connect onboarding, eligibility, publishing, analytics, monetization, and reinvestment into a coherent creator journey.Partner with Creator Growth & Discovery to improve how players find, try, purchase, return to, and advocate for creator-made experiences.Partner with Creator Relations and Partnerships to understand creator needs, support strategic creators and studios, and ensure scaled programs inform product direction.Bring market, competitive, regulatory, platform, and creator insights into product strategy so Minecraft can make informed choices about monetization models, incentive design, and ecosystem expansion.Lead cross-functional planning for major creator monetization initiatives and product launches, aligning engineering, design, data, research, marketing, finance, legal, policy, support, and business development.Establish product principles and economic frameworks that balance sustainable revenue growth with player trust, creator opportunity, marketplace fairness, safety, and operational scalability.Represent the creator monetization strategy in senior leadership forums, clearly communicating progress, tradeoffs, risks, investment needs, and decisions.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software developmentOR equivalent experience.3+ years people management experience.Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of product management, business strategy, marketplace platform, creator ecosystem, commerce, gaming, UGC platform, or related digital economy experience.Proven ability to set vision, define strategy, build alignment, and deliver measurable product, creator, player, and business outcomes at scale.Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, creator monetization, platform incentives, pricing, payout models, revenue models, economic forecasting, and ecosystem health.Demonstrated ability to partner across engineering, design, data science, research, marketing, finance, business development, legal, policy, and operations.Strong analytical judgment, including the ability to use data to understand marketplace performance, creator behavior, player engagement, monetization, retention, and business impact.Exceptional data-driven storytelling skills, with the ability to synthesize complex analysis into clear recommendations for senior leaders and cross-functional partners.Experience managing a product lifecycle from strategy and concept through launch, iteration, measurement, and operational scaling.Working understanding of technical product development, including software development processes, platform dependencies, experimentation systems, data instrumentation, and analytics tooling.Experience making high-quality tradeoffs across player experience, creator needs, platform trust, business growth, and operational complexity.#MojangJobs #GamingJobsProduct Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $165,600 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
