Nuclear Medicine Technologist- FT

MLee Healthcare is partnering with a local regional hospital to fill a position for a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist. This role involves using radioactive isotopes and advanced imaging techniques to assist in medical diagnoses and provide exceptional patient care. As part of a collaborative healthcare team, the technologist will perform a range of procedures that produce diagnostic images for interpretation by a radiologist, ensuring patient safety and high standards of care.

Essential Functions:
  • Verify patient identification and ensure all necessary information is accurate and complete before each procedure.
  • Complete patient information sheets and gather relevant medical history prior to exams.
  • Prepare and administer various radioactive materials, including intravenous injections.
  • Operate and adjust nuclear medicine equipment, selecting appropriate settings for optimal imaging results.
  • Position patients to best demonstrate the area of interest and determine the most effective technical factors for high-quality images.
  • Implement radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and oneself.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and proper identification, and address any patient concerns.
  • Ensure images are correctly sent to the PACS system, verify their accuracy, and present them to the radiologist before patient dismissal.
  • Possess knowledge of EMR/PACS computer systems.
Nuclear Medicine Technologist Requirements:
  • Comprehensive understanding of Nuclear Medicine and PET exams.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program is preferred.
  • Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine is preferred.
  • Proficient in using PACS/EMR systems.
