Sr. Cost Accountant

Sr. Cost AccountantWe are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our growing Finance Team. This position will report directly to the Operations Finance Manager and will be responsible for providing analytical support to the global organization. We are looking for someone who has a keen attention to detail, superior analytical capability, and someone who takes an ownership approach in all tasks.In your role as a Senior Cost Accountant, you will be part of our success by:Completing costs for new items, gross margin analysis, and annual cost budgetCompleting month-end cost and inventory entries and general ledger closingsManaging Fixed Asset reporting – including asset additions, disposals, transfers, CIP allocation, and depreciationSupporting Product Managers by providing customer quotes in a timely manner while maintaining standard costsImproving the Capital Expenditure management and approval processSupporting the business unit during ERP implementation and transitionParticipating in physical inventories, cost reconciliations, and analysisProviding financial support for lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiativesAiding in analyzing standard costs for proposed acquisitions and assisting in the development of new standard costs as requiredEnhancing accuracy of the standard cost systemJointly working with Corporate Accounting to ensure proper accounting methods and controls are in placePerforming other duties or ad-hoc projects as requiredTo be considered for this position you must meet the following requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3-5 years of relevant professional experience in a manufacturing environmentAdvanced degree or CPA/CMA (or working toward) preferredStrong analytical approach to problem solving with high regard for detail and accuracyMust be able to work independently or as part of a team while enhancing personal and departmental performanceEnergetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiativeFlexibility to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment while remaining accurate and efficientExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with employees at various levels throughout the organizationAdvanced proficiency in MS Office applications (primarily Excel) Dynamics AX experience a plusWillingness to Travel - OccasionallyPrevious experience in manufacturing costing.
