We are looking for an experienced Grants and Contract Manager to support grant and contract administration for a long-term contract opportunity in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role is ideal for a detail-focused individual who can manage documentation with accuracy, partner effectively across program and finance teams, and communicate clearly in a regulated grantmaking environment. The position requires strong judgment, excellent writing skills, and the ability to navigate private foundation grant processes with consistency and care.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation, review, and maintenance of grant and contract records, ensuring documents are complete, accurate, and aligned with established standards.

• Manage grant data within tracking systems and spreadsheets, producing reliable records and supporting timely reporting across the organization.

• Partner closely with program and finance stakeholders to coordinate workflows, resolve documentation issues, and keep grant activity moving efficiently.

• Draft and refine grant-related correspondence, agreements, and supporting materials with careful attention to clarity, legal considerations, and detail.

• Monitor grants and contracts for compliance with applicable policies, including conflict-of-interest and self-dealing principles relevant to private foundation activity.

• Analyze grant administration challenges, define priorities, and recommend practical solutions that improve consistency and execution.

• Use Microsoft Excel tools such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables to organize data, validate information, and support grant tracking needs.

• Support grant system administration and contribute to process updates within platforms such as Fluxx when applicable.

• 5+ years of experience in grant management, grants administration, or a closely related function.

• Strong working knowledge of private foundation grants and contracts, including documentation practices and administrative requirements.

• Experience working with grant databases; familiarity with Fluxx is preferred.

• Understanding of conflict-of-interest and self-dealing concepts as they relate to grantmaking activities.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and engage respectfully with diverse individuals and groups.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain grant processes clearly and professionally.

• High attention to detail, sound problem-solving ability, and strong organizational skills.
