Position Overview

STHS McAllen Heart Hospital is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a contract assignment within a high-acuity cardiovascular procedural environment. The Cath Lab Tech will support diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures while functioning within a multidisciplinary Cath Lab team.

The ideal candidate will have strong scrub and monitoring experience, be comfortable assisting with peripheral and diagnostic procedures, and possess excellent technical and communication skills in a fast-paced Cath Lab setting.

Responsibilities
Assist physicians during invasive cardiac and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures
Perform scrub and monitoring duties during Cath Lab procedures
Operate radiology imaging and catheterization equipment safely and effectively
Support structural heart, coronary, and peripheral vascular procedures
Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and sterile supplies
Monitor patient status during procedures and communicate changes appropriately
Maintain sterile technique and ensure procedural safety standards
Document procedural data accurately and efficiently
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary Cath Lab staff
Participate in rotating on-call coverage for emergency procedures
Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and post-procedure workflow
Requirements
RCIS or RAD certification required
Current BLS Certification required
Current ACLS Certification required
Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology experience required
Experience scrubbing and panning peripheral and diagnostic procedures required
Degree in related field or equivalent years of experience required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in fast-paced procedural settings
Candidates must live at least 50 miles from facility location
