Shift AM/PM rotation, including every other weekend, 8:30-4:30 pm, 2:00-10:30 pm. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments upon resident admission and facilitate necessary discharge planning within residential programs. Track and communicate essential medical information effectively, both verbally and through written documentation. Assist in coordinating and scheduling medical appointments for residents. Oversee medication-related responsibilities, including reviewing medication administration, obtaining informed consent, providing medication education to residents, families, and staff, and reviewing the Medication Administration Record (MAR). Collaborate with the entire residential team to create and maintain a therapeutic environment for clients. Build therapeutic rapport with clients and offer basic counseling support. Assist clients in practicing daily living skills and provide crisis intervention, including de‑escalation techniques and safety holds. Engage in treatment planning for clients by observing behaviors, implementing therapeutic interventions, and providing feedback on client progress. Offer leadership and consultation to the residential team by participating in the administrator on‑call rotation, which may involve varying hours of availability. Provide guidance to other administrators on‑call regarding medical or medication‑related issues as necessary. Demonstrate psychological insight and self‑awareness in understanding client behaviors and interventions, and actively seek supervision and consultation regarding the challenges and demands of the residential RN role. Manage disruptive and explosive residents. Maintain flexibility in hours of availability for telephone consult to participate in administrator on‑call responsibilities. Qualifications Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure as an RN with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing. Knowledge of nursing practices and adherence to the Nurse Practice Act. Critical thinking and problem‑solving ability. Ability to communicate and make safe judgment calls in stressful situations. Capacity to perform multiple tasks and communicate professionally both verbally and in writing. Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word). Orientation and education in gender, cultural differences, and age‑appropriate care. Ability to shift rapidly between dissimilar tasks. Calm and effective response to volatile or emergency situations. Decision‑making skills in stressful circumstances. Post‑training ability to manage disruptive and explosive residents. Flexibility in hours for telephone consult and on‑call responsibilities. Compensation Compensation for this role ranges from $38 to $51 per hour, depending on education and experience. Compensation is determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, market conditions, and internal equity to ensure fairness.
