We are currently seeking a full-time Family or Internal Medicine Physician to join our dynamic team at our Fair Oaks Wellness Center. This beautiful, state-of-the-art clinic cares for a truly unique all-adult patient population of retired First Responders and their dependents.

Why You Will Love This Role:

• Low patient volume (10-14 patients a day) - Focus on outcomes, prevention, and patient engagement...not volume. Smaller patient panels that allow for deeper, more impactful care.
• Built in dedicated time both in the mornings and afternoons for charting and other administrative functions
• 30- and 60-minute appointment times
• Sustainable schedule of 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday with no nights, no late clinics and no call.
• Emphasis on lifestyle medicine, education, and long-term wellness
• Collaborate with experienced healthcare professionals on-site in the clinic; Registered Nurses, Licensed Professional Counselors, Clinical Pharmacist, Ultrasound Sonographers, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Provides medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients to meet their needs
• Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients
• Determines which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs
• Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments
• Exercises final medical judgment in all issues of health care
• Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients
• Orders studies, tests, and ancillary services
• Documents all services in patient medical record in the EHR
• Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention
• Consults with Physician Lead, Director of Medicine, and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and educational issues
• Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by Health by Design
• Assists as needed in the resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients
• Assists in the development, production, and presentation of medical education, material, lectures, and mixed media presentations for patient and medical staff
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited US School of Medicine; MD or DO
• BC / BE
• Current unrestricted Texas license
• BLS
