Details Inpatient respiratory care unit at an acute care hospital Serves neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations Includes coverage of inpatient units and the Emergency Department Key procedures include blood gas analysis (arterial, venous, and capillary), ventilator assessments, and sleep therapy compliance monitoring Additional skills utilized include equipment maintenance, EMR documentation, and care plan evaluation Uses Epic EMR for charting and care documentation Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week Weekend requirement: approximately every other weekend (3 weekends per 6-week period) Holiday rotation among 6 designated Carle holidays No on-call requirement No floating requirement Requirements Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required — license required if applicable BLS certification (American Heart Association) required Epic EMR experience required Level 1 Trauma experience required Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory therapy experience Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director Responsibilities include assessing ventilator patients, evaluating respiratory care plans, recommending interventions, and documenting procedures and patient responses in Epic Assist with cleaning, stocking, and maintaining respiratory care equipment and supplies Record and relay sleep therapy compliance information to the care team and physician Candidate selection involves an interview with the facility leader Travelers who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning to any location within the system RTO is not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract American Traveler Job ID #P-709418.
