Your job is to apply this framework with precision while researching and specifying solutions that bring Santa Barbara Homes’ concepts to life. This role requires someone who finds satisfaction in making ideas buildable: researching until ambiguity becomes specification, then coordinating until concepts become reality. Scope of Responsibility Interior Design Execution – 70% Apply the Santa Barbara Homes’ design framework across multiple active projects with consistency and craft. Core activities: Develop interior layouts, finish selections, and detailing that aligns with Santa Barbara Home’s standards Produce clear, well-coordinated construction documentation Collaborate with builders to ensure feasibility and address execution challenges Maintain design quality and coherence across concurrent projects This work emphasizes precision, clarity, and attention to detail. Success means builders can execute your specifications without ambiguity or friction. Procurement – 30% 1) Structural Procurement Research how Santa Barbara Homes’ concepts become buildable specifications, then coordinate implementation. What this looks like: Santa Barbara Homes says "wellness room" or "enhanced utility systems"—you research what that means in buildable terms Conceptualize specialized spaces (wellness areas, storage solutions, utility enhancements) Source vendors, compare costs, coordinate logistics for approved custom solutions Document successful solutions that may later be elevated to SBH Matrix standards This is applied research. You're solving specific problems Santa Barbara Homes identifies. Successful custom solutions may become repeatable standards. Identify and source repeatable components that reduce cost and variability while maintaining quality. Focus areas: Fixtures, finishes, and hardware that don't require architectural changes (vents, returns, plugs, switches, door hardware, lighting, plumbing fixtures) Research suppliers and compare across cost, quality, durability, lead times Establish clear specifications suitable for repeat use across projects Negotiate volume pricing and maintain vendor relationships Reduce decision fatigue and execution friction through thoughtful standardization This work compounds over time: better standards mean smoother projects and lower costs.
