Individual Care and Support: Assist individuals with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, bathing, and toileting. Help with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met. Administer prescribed medications, following facility protocols and safety guidelines. Provide mobility assistance, ensuring individuals navigate their environment safely and confidently (Level 3, all-ambulatory home). Accompany individuals on community outings, medical appointments, and recreational activities to foster social engagement and independence. Monitor and report changes in individuals' health and well-being to the Facility Administrator or healthcare professionals. 2. Implementation of Individualized Plans: Follow Individual Program Plans (IPPs) and Individual Service Plans (ISPs) to support individuals’ goals and personal development. Guide individuals in building essential skills like budgeting, cooking, and personal care. Use positive behavior support strategies to encourage independence and manage challenging behaviors. 3. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records, including daily logs, incident reports, and medication administration records (MARs). Actively participate in team meetings to discuss individuals’ progress, challenges, and potential improvements. 4. Communication and Advocacy: Build trust with individuals, their families, and other team members through clear, empathetic communication. Advocate for individuals’ rights, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect at all times. 5. Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety protocols, maintaining a clean and safe environment. Respond appropriately during emergencies, including fire evacuations and medical situations. Participate in routine emergency drills and keep knowledge of emergency care plans up-to-date. Qualifications Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: No prior experience required, but caregiving experience (e.g., residential facility or home care) is beneficial. Licensure/Certification: First Aid and CPR certification required (can be obtained after employment as part of the onboarding process) Completion of DSP Training: DSP I within the first year of employment DSP II by the end of the second year Willingness to participate in additional training, including Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and other specialized programs Continuing Education Units (CEUs): Minimum of 12 hours annually, as required by Title 17 Skills and Abilities: Compassionate and patient, with a passion for helping others. Strong communication skills to connect with individuals, families, and team members. Problem-solving and a calm demeanor in challenging situations. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, or assist individuals as needed. Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods. Why Join Us?
