Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

OR RN provides direct perioperative nursing care in an acute care setting, supporting safe surgical services from patient preparation through recovery workflow. The role partners with the surgical team to maintain standards of practice, readiness for procedures, and continuity of care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient status and readiness for surgical procedures, collaborating with the team to identify needs.
• Prepare, maintain, and manage perioperative documentation and workflows in Epic.
• Administer medications and therapies per orders while following safety and sterile technique standards.
• Implement infection prevention practices and support safe instrument and equipment handling.
• Monitor patients post-procedure and respond promptly to changes in condition, including during on-call periods.
• Participate in call rotation and provide clinical coverage as scheduled and required.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active SC license or Compact license in hand prior to start.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Bring 4+ years of perioperative nursing experience, preferably in OR settings.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient-safety focus.
• Utilize Epic charting effectively and complete required documentation accurately.
• Demonstrate flexibility to float within scope to meet facility needs.
