Work Environment

This full-time position is set within our hospital setting, which provides a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere. You will be working primarily Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a structured schedule while enjoying the flexibility to engage in patient care initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing tailored treatment programs for diverse patient needs.
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions to patients, including exercises and functional activities that promote recovery.
• Educate patients about their rehabilitation exercises, ensuring they understand the importance of adherence for effective outcomes.
• Thoroughly monitor patient progress during therapy sessions and accurately document all relevant notes in our electronic health record system.
• Engage in collaborative discussions with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and holistic care for each patient.
• Incorporate trigger point therapy techniques into treatment plans as needed, enhancing patient relief and comfort.
• Participate in fostering occupational health initiatives in the facility to promote overall wellness and injury prevention.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will be working with patients of varying ages and backgrounds, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and individuals managing chronic pain. A focus on rehabilitation, mobility enhancement, and effective pain management is paramount as you navigate the unique needs of each patient. Your role will be pivotal in building trust and rapport, ensuring patients feel comfortable and motivated throughout their treatment process.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field is required.
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a physical therapy setting.
• Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and the ability to skillfully apply them during patient interactions.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in a hospital setting or orthopedic clinic will be beneficial. Compensation and Benefits
