Activity Assistant - Part Time

Description Employee Type: Non Exempt Part Time Shift: 4p - 8p 16 hours per week Essential Functions Work with team members and residents in developing the monthly activity calendar to meet the needs and desires of the residents, as well as working with Daycare to have activities that both residents and children can do together. Support and implement the principles of the Eden Alternative in your daily approach to residents, children, staff, family and activities. Chart daily activity attendance and participation of all residents, who engaged in activities of interest, both individually, 1:1 and/or groups. See that each resident is given the opportunity to participate in group activities, 1:1 visits, outings, and spontaneous activities that will meet their physical, social, emotional, spiritual and cognitive needs to alleviate loneliness, helplessness, and boredom. Requirements Have a high school diploma or equivalent or show that you are working towards one. Have prior experience in working in a long-term care setting with older adults in Activities and/or as a Nurse Aide, and/or also with children. Have a desire to work with residents who have varying illnesses and disabilities. Have a desire to learn more and strongly support the principles of the Eden Alternative.
