About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience required. High-risk experience is necessary. License: Active compact nursing license required. Certifications: BLS is required. NRP is required. ACLS and AWHONN certifications are preferred. Must-Have: Candidates must have the ability to circulate and provide newborn care. Description: Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is essential. The unit handles all types of labor and delivery, including high-risk cases. The average daily census is 15 patients, with 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit has 31 rooms and a high volume of patients. Nurses are expected to float as needed between related units. Orientation for the unit will be provided. Candidates will function in the role of a baby nurse during delivery. Responsibilities include newborn assessments and administering necessary injections. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must work every other weekend and on holidays as needed. Travel behavior may require floating to nearby facilities as necessary. The unit adheres to established guidelines and protocols for staffing and patient care. Candidates must be able to handle high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients.
