Buyer Position
El Regio Distribution Center is seeking an experienced Buyer in our Grand Prairie, TX corporate offices. The Buyer will evaluate bids and pricing to maintain a competitive advantage within the company's marketplace while focusing on negotiating the best price from suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
Responsibilities:
- Purchases materials supplies and any additional services by negotiating the best price.
- Qualifies vendors, examine quotes or bids, and negotiates price and terms for purchase of goods or services.
- Performs data entry of all purchase orders.
- Sends, tracks, and monitors all purchase orders to vendors or customers for quality and maintains a current database of all vendor information.
- Assist other departments when required.
- Reviews requisitions.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
- Receives and contacts vendors to find out status of orders.
- Contacts vendors with discrepancies with quantity and quality.
- Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues as necessary.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Develop spreadsheets or tables in Excel.
