Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is in need of a Manufacturing Operations Manager 2 to join our Manufacturing and Infrastructure Team at its Elkton, Maryland facility.Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. You’ll get to do:Direct and coordinate energetic mixing and casting operations while maintaining a strict adherence to safety and quality objectives.Direct and coordinate activities to plan, manage, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning, to meet production/delivery requirementsOversee the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are available, as neededMaintains ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive process control, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.Provides specific direction and training to employees to ensure operational success.Basic Qualifications:Must have 12 year of experience working in a Manufacturing and/or Production Environment. Will also consider those with a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience working in a Manufacturing and/or Production Environment and those with a Master's degree with 6 years of experience working in a Manufacturing and/or Production Environment.Excellent verbal communication skills with Technician staff, Manufacturing support personnel, Functional management, Program management and related groupsSupport customer proposal by providing basis of estimates (BOE) for labor and schedule durationsEnsuring compliance to all Northrop Grumman policies and procedures as applicable for manufacturing environmentsEnsure that equipment and machinery are maintained in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules for each assigned areaThe ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance is required, US citizenship is a pre-requisitePreferred Qualifications:Experience presenting to executive staff / leadershipExperience with Lean/5S in manufacturing environments.Active U.S. Secret Security Level ClearanceExperience in a Production Control environmentExperience with SAPExperience with SoluminaPrimary Level Salary Range: $115,600.00 - $173,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
