Title Temporary Product Development Associate – Women’s Polo Knits / Women’s Sportswear Knits Industry Apparel and Fashion Location New York, NY Duration ASAP – 6–12 months; Full-time hours Responsibilities Support our client’s women’s knit product development from concept through commercialization, including style creation, PLM updates, BOM maintenance, and development records. Track seasonal calendars, prototypes, fit samples, salesperson samples, factory deliverables, and key milestones; proactively communicate delays and risks. Coordinate sample requests, sample-room organization, product reviews, shipments, and follow-up on outstanding development submissions. Partner with sourcing teams, regional offices, and global manufacturing partners to coordinate factory allocations, yarn, fabric, trim, proto-yardage, costing, and material approvals. Collaborate with Design, Technical Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Manufacturing; maintain status reports, capture meeting actions, and support process improvements and data accuracy. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Product Development, Fashion Business, Textiles, or a related field, plus 1–3 years of experience in apparel product development, merchandising, sourcing, or production. Strong organizational, project management, prioritization, follow-through, problem-solving, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Advanced proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office, with strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Experience with apparel product development systems; knowledge of PLM systems, particularly FlexPLM, is preferred. Preferred experience with cut-and-sew knitwear, garment construction, knit yarns, fabrics, product costing, overseas factories, and sourcing teams.
