Qualifications Possess a valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate for Elementary Education K-6. Completion of a successful background check. Demonstrated ability to provide successful instruction in reading and math. Demonstrated ability to provide differentiated instruction and intervention to students exhibiting a wide range of abilities and behaviors. Strong written and oral communication skills. Any additional combination of training or experience that would lead to successful employment as an Elementary Teacher. Utilize a variety of research‑based instructional strategies. Motivate and engage students in learning, problem solving and collaboration. Adjust instruction based on a variety of assessments and student responses. Engage in professional development for self‑renewal that guides continuous examination and improvement of professional practice. Engage in collaborative learning opportunities for self‑renewal with colleagues. Participate in school‑wide collaborative efforts to support the success of all students. Work with parents, guardians, families, and community entities to support student learning and well‑being. Promote practices and policies that improve school environment and student learning. Provide measurable progress of student learning of state‑approved curricula. Demonstrate professional conduct as defined in law, policy and procedure at the state, district, and school level.
