Material Handler

The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting warehouse operations by safely moving, loading, and unloading materials throughout the facility. This position requires regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment. You will work closely with a small team to support shipping, kitting, and general material handling activities in an air-conditioned warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the workday to move materials and products safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring materials are handled carefully and placed in the correct locations.
• Support general warehouse activities, including material handling, kitting, shipping, and general labor tasks as needed.
• Follow established procedures for handling, storing, and staging materials to maintain organization and workflow.
• Work collaboratively with a team of material handlers to meet daily operational goals and production needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area in compliance with workplace safety standards.
• Demonstrate positive attitude and professional conduct when interacting with team members and other departments.
• Use material handling equipment safely; operate a forklift if trained and authorized (forklift experience is a plus but not required).
• Participate in overtime work when needed, including some Saturdays and occasional additional hours, while supporting the team's workload.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day.

• Experience with material handling, warehouse work, or general labor in a similar environment.
• Ability to support kitting and shipping activities within a warehouse setting.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
• Prior experience in shipping, kitting, or general warehouse operations is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a structured environment that may include special attire such as gloves, shoe covers, and hair nets for certain areas.
• Flexibility to volunteer for additional hours when the workload is high.

Work Environment

This role is based in an air-conditioned warehouse environment, working as part of a material handling team of approximately five people. The dress code is casual for day-to-day work, with occasional requirements to wear specific attire such as gloves, shoe covers, and hair nets when entering an air lock room or controlled areas. The position offers multiple shifts: a first shift typically running from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a second shift typically running from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Some Saturdays and additional hours may be required, with many overtime opportunities offered on a voluntary basis, though candidates should remain open to working some extra hours as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.87/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
