MRI Technologist - Travel Job

Jackson HealthPros is thrilled to welcome an experienced MRI Technologist to support a hospital in Mechanicsville, VA. The MRI Technologist will prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images, administer contrast when indicated, and apply MRI safety principles to minimize risk to patients and staff. The role involves collaboration with radiologists, technologists, and support staff to ensure accurate imaging and quality patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification with MR specialty (ARRT (MR)) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to direct patient care.
  • Minimum 1 year of MRI experience in a hospital setting required.
  • Experience with GE MRI equipment required (GE 1.5T Signa Artist and GE 3T Premier preferred).
  • Experience performing IV injections and administering MRI contrast agents.
  • Familiarity with PACS systems preferred.
  • Ability to follow MRI safety protocols and established imaging protocols.
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius (NO LOCAL CANDIDATES).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree from an ARRT-accredited program preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC or other electronic health records preferred.
  • Experience working with pediatric, inpatient, and outpatient populations preferred.

Assignment Details
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Call requirement: 4 days per month.
  • Works alongside another technologist in a team environment; daily caseload typically between 35-40 cases.
  • Equipment: GE 1.5T Signa Artist and GE 3T Premier. PACS used for image archiving.
  • Interview process: Initial ITO interview followed by a second interview with the hiring manager.
