Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is seeking a BC/BE Cardiologist in the Section of Cardiovascular Medicine and the Heart and Vascular Center. Join the academic practice of 40 cardiologists who form a well‑established, dedicated and compassionate team of providers at DHMC in Lebanon, NH, one of the nation's leading innovators in clinical care and national healthcare policy.

This is a full‑time position at our academic center with responsibilities in both inpatient and outpatient care as well as noninvasive test interpretation for qualified candidates. The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth commensurate with experience. Active engagement in clinical and/or outcomes research is strongly encouraged. A passion for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows is essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)
• Post‑graduate training in residency program
• Current New Hampshire Medical License
• Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)
• Active hospital staff membership

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and related administrative services and actively participate in DHC’s academic endeavors.
• Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct.
• Review records and detailed medical history from patient(s).
• Determine appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan(s).
• Determine and order appropriate screening and diagnostic tests and studies.
• Obtain informed consent for treatment diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and studies.
• Interpret and evaluate test and study results.
• Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical devices in accordance within specialty scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations.
• Initiate referrals to other providers as necessary.
• Initiate admission/discharge of patients, if applicable.
• Provide consultation, education, and counseling regarding the management of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries; encourage behavioral change and assist with self‑management skills to improve overall health.
• Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
• Provide patient and family‑centered care.
• Insure the patient’s right to privacy, confidentiality and informed consent.
• Supervise APPs as directed.
• Participate in continuing medical education (CME).
• Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
• Participate in academic responsibilities assigned by the Department Chair or designee, including but not limited to: leading small group resident conferences, training of residents, teaching medical and other health professional students, participating in clinical trials or other sponsored research, and any other Geisel obligations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Current New Hampshire Medical License
