CNC Programmer

CNC Programmer and CNC Machinist Type: Temp to Perm; Location: Salem, VA; Pay: $20-25/hour Shift 1st Shift, hours may vary depending on needs; may require overtime. Key Responsibilities Translate blueprints and technical drawings into CNC programs. Write and test CNC programs for machines such as gun drills, horizontal mills, bridge mills, and horizontal lathes. Operate CNC machines across multiple material types including carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, graphite, titanium, zirconium, and tantalum. Utilize problem‑solving tools to address non‑conformities and improve productivity. Communicate with supervisors and engineering to optimize manufacturing processes. Develop and implement tools and fixtures as required to support CNC machining. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet Mersen and/or customer quality standards. Requirements Must be able to lift 45 lbs. Must be able to operate a forklift. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools. Ability to read and interpret detail drawings. 3 years CNC manufacturing experience. Strong mechanical aptitude. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Machinist certification or completion of related courses. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. 3 years CNC programming experience with SURFCAM or equivalent CAM tools.
