Critical Care/ICU/PICU/NICU Physician Assistant

Location: Cumming, GA
Setting: High-Acuity Intensive Care Unit
Assignment Type: Full-Time Night Coverage

Schedule & Setting

• Three (3) 12-hour night shifts weekly
  • 7:00 PM 7:30 AM (includes sign-out to oncoming shift)
  • Local candidates strongly preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU environment
  • Typical APP-to-patient ratio of ICU patients with attending physician support available
  • Collaborate with attending physicians to develop and adjust plans of care
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessments and implement clinical interventions
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds each shift
  • Communicate closely with ICU nursing staff and care teams

Procedures & Documentation

• Perform invasive bedside procedures including central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, introducers) and arterial line placements
  • Interpret diagnostic testing and clinical data
  • Complete comprehensive EMR documentation including H&Ps, consults, event notes, follow-up notes, and procedure documentation
  • Order entry and documentation completed within EMR

Requirements

• ACNP or Physician Assistant with active national and state licensure required
  • NP candidates must hold Acute Care certification
  • Minimum 1 2 years ICU APP experience required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with central and arterial line insertions (case logs required during credentialing)
