Adheres to department and hospital policies, including safety, risk management, and regulatory standards, and keeps abreast of trends and regulatory requirements. Administers, oversees, and documents medication administration (topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, intravenously) as ordered by the practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy. Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs. Gathers data relevant for patient care, implements interventions, evaluates outcomes, and plans care appropriately based on assessments. Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post‑discharge needs. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competence, using communication tools and understanding how cultures affect care. Engages in professional growth opportunities and demonstrates accountability to meet deadlines. Documents care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of physician orders. Our Critical Care Unit has 16 mixed ICU and PCU private patient rooms, equipped with ceiling lifts, supply cabinets, couches, privacy curtains, and full dialysis plumbing. Computers in each room facilitate bedside documentation and medication verification. We utilize Epic as our electronic health record. Job Requirements Graduation from an accredited nursing school, upon hire. 1–2 years med/surg experience and successful completion of a critical care residency program, or New graduate with completion of a senior practicum in a specialty area (critical care, ED, PACU) and successful completion of a critical care residency program. Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire. Basic Life Support – CPR, through the American Heart Association, upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing. One year of related work experience in an acute care setting. Previous PCU/ICU experience. CRN/CCRN preferred.
