Lead Java Engineer
Location: Seattle, WA – Hybrid
Duration: Contract Position
Job Description: Required Skills - Java 8+, Spring Boot, Containers, Cloud, Automated testing, Agile
- Be an active participant in all scrum ceremonies and lead in the delivery of the strategic roadmap.
- Help define project scope & specifications, and estimate resources required to develop the proposed solution.
- Ensure that specifications and requirements are clearly articulated to the development teams and monitor timelines & progress.
- Propose technical solutions.
- Delivery of well-designed, high-quality, fully functional, properly tested features, fixes, and enhancements.
- Responsible for the full application development lifecycle and support.
- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
- Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance.
- Provide subject matter expertise and direction, guidance, and support on complex engagements.
Job Requirements - 7+ years of engineering
- 6+ years experience with Java 8+
- 4+ years experience with Spring Boot
- 4+ years experience with Containers (Docker and orchestration, ie: Kubernetes or EKS or Redhat)
- 4+ years experience with Azure or AWS
- Strong understanding of microservices and
- 4+ years experience with test automation (jbehave, cucumber, selenium, junit)
- 4+ years experience in an Agile/Scrum team (backlog refinement, standups, code reviews, JIRA or ADO etc.)
Desired Skills & Experience - Streaming/messaging: Kafka, NATS, Kinesis, or Event Hub are strongly desired
- Datadog or New Relic a plus
- Elastic Search a plus
- Apigee a plus
