Teller Part Time

Position: Part Time Teller (20 - 25 hours per week)The teller will process deposits and pay out funds in accordance with bank procedures, record all transactions accurately and balance each day’s operations while providing excellent customer service.Essential Functions:Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts, and looks for check endorsements. Examines cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills.Cashes check for customers after verifying identification and checking account balances in accordance with bank policyEnters transactions into computer and issues customer receiptsCounts cash balance at beginning of shift and balances cash and checks against computer records at end of shiftPrepares certified checks, cashier’s checks, gift cards and travelers’ checks as requestedExplains bank services and charges to customersProcess ATM depositsObserves suspicious behavior and report any such activityAssists customers in opening accounts and general customer serviceBalance coin machine, vault balancing including cash sales and money orderingScanning deposits and payment transactionsProcess the renting, accessing and closing of safe deposit boxesDaily balancing of all monetary instrumentsAssist in balancing of the ATMGreet and refer customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.All other duties as assignedExcellent Customer Service skillsActive Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Communication Skills – The ability to communicate effectivelyMathematics – using mathematics to solve problemsProblem Solving Skills – The ability to find resolution to problems in an efficient, practical mannerTime Management – managing one’s own time and the time of others within the groupAdministrative skills – basic computer skills including 10 key experienceKnowledge & Experience:High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate). Must have cash handling and customer service experience.
