Join Our Dynamic Nursing Team - 12-Hour Shifts Await!

Job Description:


- Unit Details:
- Stepdown Unit (Cost Center 3428)
- 28 private beds
- Ratios: 1:4-5 (MedSurg acuity can be 1:6)

- Shifts:
- 3-12 hour shifts per week
- 7A-7P schedule
- Work every other weekend including Saturday and Sunday
- Must work Christmas or New Year's

- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

- Patient Care:
- Common diagnoses include heavy cardiac cases, dysrhythmias, and CVAs
- Supportive hospitalist and intensivist available 24/7
- Ability to titrate drips: Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin

- Team Dynamics:
- Work alongside a dedicated team with 2 Nurse Aides per shift during the day
- Enjoy a welcoming and communicative Director who prioritizes staff engagement and block scheduling

- Technology:
- Familiarity with EMR - currently using Cerner & EPIC
- Central monitor station for whole hospital; skills in reading strips required
- RT and Pharmacy services available in-house 24/7

- Orientation:
- Floor-specific orientation with 2 shifts alongside a preceptor

- Floating Opportunities:
- Potential to float to ICU as helping hands when needed
