Restaurant Host / Hostess

Position Description:

The Host/Hostess is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression for guests by providing exceptional customer service, managing restaurant seating, and ensuring a smooth dining experience. This position serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in maintaining efficient restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
• Monitor dining room seating to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Communicate guest needs and special requests to servers and management.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide information about restaurant services.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
• Assist with guest inquiries, concerns, and service recovery when appropriate.
• Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth guest flow.
• Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
• Follow company policies, service standards, and appearance guidelines.
• Support restaurant operations with additional duties as assigned.

• Previous customer service, hospitality, or restaurant experience preferred.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Schedule

Flexible schedule required. Must be available to work weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings, and overtime as needed based on hotel occupancy, staffing needs, and business levels.
