Laboratory Technician

MPL Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Sparta, NJ. This position reports to the Assistant Group Leader of Microbiology Testing. The basic function of the Laboratory Technician position is to perform laboratory testing.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform microbiological analysis of customer products as assignedPerform microbiological testing of: cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceutical products, food and beverages, water and environmental samples, sterile medical devices, and other related productsPerform environmental sampling, make media, autoclave and HEPA filter and other validations as neededPerform preventive maintenance on applicable laboratory equipmentLift and carry laboratory equipment, petri dishes, laboratory soft goods, samples and other materials throughout work areas as neededOther responsibilities as deemed necessary by the managerRequirements:Bachelors Degree in Life Science-required Biology or Microbiology preferredAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipLaboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plusExcellent Oral, Written, and Technical CommunicationMath aptitude and reading skillsPhysical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods of timeAbility to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisAbility to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitudeEffective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistanceBackground Check RequiredAvailable Shift:Position is full-time Tuesday to Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.Training shift to start will be Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Sparta, NJ are encouraged to applyEMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
