SUD Clinical Supervisor – Southeast Michigan – Macomb County – Warren Offices Are you a licensed clinician with a passion for supporting recovery and leading others? Join our mission‑driven team as a Clinical Substance Use Disorder Supervisor in our new Macomb County SUD Offices in Warren. Your leadership, expertise and guidance will directly impact the lives of those we have been entrusted to serve. We’re looking for a strong, empathetic leader with deep clinical expertise and a heart for service. Your work will not only support staff but also empower individuals on their path to recovery—restoring dignity, hope, and health. State‑wide travel may be required as program dictates. Annual Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 based on behavioral health / substance use disorder experience and required credentialing Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a clinical leader to the team, working with other leadership personnel to keep staff current with agency policies, procedures and developments. Promote a holistic and strengths‑based treatment approach, including family and coordination of care with applicable agencies (DHHS, court, school, medication‑assisted treatment, and other medical providers) and provide education to clinicians and other team members on state and federal treatment guidelines and procedures. Provide oversight at weekly team meetings and work with the Director in overseeing program implementation, hiring, training, monitor clinician caseload, methods and treatment strategies. Provide a global agency view to the team by acting as a bridge between the agency’s administration and program staff through awareness and communication of agency planning, policies, and procedures. Provide financial oversight to the program by monitoring staff productivity, expense line items, and other program expenses; assess and advocate for the program needs in these areas. Complete staff evaluations on a timely basis and use staff discipline procedures as necessary, consulting with Human Resources as needed. Assist, support, and participate in training staff within the program. Collaborate with other supervisors and directors in identifying the therapeutic training needs of the treatment staff necessary to maintaining a therapeutic milieu and meeting the specialized needs of clients. Track information from intake and admission through treatment and into aftercare, contributing to the statistical data bank of the organization. Ensure compliance with Managed Care Organization requirements for case documentation, authorization and re‑authorization; attend and provide training as needed. Track and monitor utilization and outcome data, including quarterly reporting for the agency report card. Ensure quality assurance compliance, including peer supervision, peer utilization reviews, and compliance with service delivery criteria and reporting requirements for each individual served. Assist in the hiring, education, training, and evaluation of SUD program staff, leading them to effectively implement individual and group therapy, case management, and peer recovery support. Market and network with community partners and schedule marketing meetings for staff, providing necessary instructions. Professional Development Keep informed of current SUD community treatment program developments and activities. Utilize educational opportunities and resources offered by the agency and through the profession for continued development of skills and clinical expertise (conferences, in‑services, therapist meetings, etc.). Use supervisory knowledge to increase understanding of treatment programming and to further professional development. Participate in research and evaluation projects as assigned; prepare presentations for colleagues, team members, and conferences on selected relevant treatment topics. Job Qualifications Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution (required). Experience and Credentialing Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) (IC & RC / MCBAP) preferred. Michigan Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS‑M) preferred or active Clinical Supervisor Development Plan registered with MCBAP, with documented progress toward CCS certification preferred. CAADC credential (Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor) or DP. Minimum of two years of clinical experience working with SUD clientele. Demonstrated experience supervising SUD staff (individual and group supervision). Understanding of ASAM Criteria, treatment planning, and documentation standards preferred.
