POSITION OVERVIEW

As a VP of Marketing, this senior leadership role focused squarely on driving customer acquisition and revenue: you'll own the marketing function end-to-end and scale the engine that turns awareness into signups, trials, and paying customers.

What you'll own

  • Own the marketing strategy and roadmap, with direct accountability for pipeline, customer acquisition, and revenue growth
  • Build and scale demand generation across paid, organic, SEO/SEM, lifecycle/email, and partnerships
  • Drive the digital acquisition engine and optimize the full funnel — from awareness to signup and free trial to paid conversion — lowering CAC and improving LTV
  • Lead product marketing: positioning, messaging, packaging and pricing input, and competitive differentiation for a business audience
  • Own brand, content, and awareness to build trust and recognition with business buyers
  • Partner with Sales and Product to align go-to-market, improve conversion, and feed a healthy, predictable pipeline
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team; establish process, priorities, and a culture of experimentation
  • Own marketing analytics, attribution, and KPIs; manage the budget and report on ROI to leadership
  • Modernize the martech stack and marketing automation, and leverage AI-powered tools to boost the team's output

What we're looking for

  • Business-to-business (B2B) SaaS marketing experience — 10+ years marketing B2B software-as-a-service products, including 4+ years leading and scaling a marketing function (VP or Director level). This is a core requirement for the role.
  • Proven track record of driving measurable growth — pipeline, customer acquisition, and revenue — for a SaaS product
  • Deep expertise in demand generation and digital/growth marketing (SEO, SEM and paid acquisition, conversion rate optimization, lifecycle marketing)
  • Experience marketing to a business audience, ideally to small and mid-sized businesses with a self-serve or product-led growth motion (free trial or freemium conversion)
  • Strong product marketing skills: positioning, messaging, and packaging
  • Data-driven leader fluent in funnel metrics, attribution, CAC/LTV, and marketing analytics
  • Demonstrated success building, scaling, and mentoring marketing teams
  • Hands-on with modern martech and marketing automation platforms
  • Located in (or able to relocate to) Southeast Michigan for a hybrid schedule

  • Experience scaling marketing through significant company growth stages
  • Familiarity with AI-powered marketing tools and automation
  • Experience across both self-serve and sales-assisted go-to-market motions
  • Experience marketing SaaS to small and mid-sized businesses
