Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) nursing position is based in Madison, Wisconsin. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care in a dynamic surgical environment, supporting complex surgical procedures including general surgery, robotic surgeries, and trauma cases. The ideal candidate will have recent acute care experience in the operating room setting.

Job Details:

• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours

• Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications, two years of acute care experience in the operating room within the last three years, and at least two years of experience in the specialty.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level II experience.
• Schedule: Shift hours are 12, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be comfortable with various surgical procedures including abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colorectal robotic surgery, trauma cases, and use of advanced equipment such as the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, fiber optic light sources, electrosurgical units, and laser safety. Flexibility for floating as needed is required, and transportation arrangements must adhere to the universitys policies. Pass/Fail telemetry testing with strict criteria and a cardiac interpretation review course may be required prior to start.
