As a 35-bed comprehensive medical/surgical hospital located in Rosebud, South Dakota, Rosebud Hospital offers a full range of services, including dental, vision, and 24-hour ambulance services. The hospital and several field clinics are staffed by physicians, nurse/midwives, and physician assistants. An optical department and dental care are also offered. The hospital is the primary source of healthcare for the Rosebud Sioux people, who reside across 20 communities, some of which lie outside the boundaries of the reservation. Responsibilities

• Manage the nursing staff in the Emergency Department, including hiring, training and scheduling.
• Ensure that patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively, while adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.
• Monitor patient flow and staffing levels to optimize the use of resources and minimize wait times.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the quality of care provided in the Emergency Department.
• Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, such as patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and staff productivity.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead performance improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including those related to patient safety and infection control.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting professional development and a positive work environment.

Requirements

• Must have a current license to practice medicine in any state, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States of the District of Columbia. License shall be full and unrestricted.
• Shall have a nationally accredited associate's degree or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years Emergency Nursing experience.
• Previous management or supervisory experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and quality improvement methodologies.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Must have an active ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS and TNCC or CEN certificate.

The Emergency Nurse Manager will work primarily in a hospital setting, with frequent interaction with patients, families and healthcare professionals. This position may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Emergency Nurse Manager may also be required to respond to emergencies and provide on-call support as needed.
