Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), PRN Springfield, OH, United States Job Description Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) at Springfield Regional Medical Center. Provide patient care under the guidance of a supervising Occupational Therapist or Licensed Occupational Therapist. Responsibilities Under guidance of supervising OTR/L, acquire pertinent information and implement comprehensive program using varied techniques and treatment activities. Provide treatment to diverse diagnostic populations and complete supporting documentation according to hospital policy and State Practice Act. Instruct care giver/family members in home exercise program as related to patient’s functional and self-care status. Demonstrate appropriate and effective written, verbal, and nonverbal communication with team members through the continuum of care. Assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function of participation in rehabilitation; make appropriate interventions to reduce pain after consulting with supervising OTR/L and make appropriate physician contact as indicated. Qualifications Current state licensure as a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Previous experience in rehabilitation or acute care preferred. Current BLS/CPR required. Full mobility and ability to participate in vigorous activity. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all constituents (patients, families, peers, and other healthcare team members).
