Two (2) years of experience in heating‑ventilation‑air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, maintenance, and repair duties. Completion of an air conditioning (AC) certification and/or continuing education program. Valid Florida driver’s license. Type I & Type II CFR certification. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification to handle refrigerants. NATE Residential Heating and Air Conditioning certificate. Light Commercial Heating and Air Conditioning certificate. Four (4) years of experience in the Indoor Air Quality and Food Equipment trade. Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills. Knowledge of pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment. Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention. Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications. Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance. Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints. Repair, rebuild, and maintain all types of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Work with stockroom personnel to ensure adequate supply of replacement parts for necessary repairs. Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures. Maintain, clean, and conduct routine preventative maintenance on air conditioning equipment. Utilize basic District computer applications for communication, training, and record keeping. Assist in the instruction of personnel on specific tasks when required. Service and maintain all pumps related to HVAC equipment. Fabricate parts and equipment for HVAC equipment when needed. Log and review warranty data.
