Location San Ramon, California; Requisition ID # 172591 Job Category: Engineering / Science Job Level: Individual Contributor Business Unit: Strategy & Growth Work Type: Hybrid Job Location: San Ramon Position Summary Oversees all aspects of System and Substation Protection and Control and Remedial Action Schemes, specified, installed and owned by PG&E. Specifies, designs, and applies protective relay packages for reliable and secure operation of transmission and distribution systems (500kv). Provides system support for departments that interface with protection schemes. Develops testing procedures. Performs fault and disturbance analysis, system modeling, documentation maintenance, and audits of protection equipment. Coordinates information exchange with other utilities and regulatory bodies. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the San Ramon office an average of 2 days a week or as business needs require. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. Bay Minimum: $147,000 Bay Area Mid: $199,000 Bay Maximum: $251,000 This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. Job Responsibilities Searches and discovers practical solutions to highly complex problems. Identifies and implements opportunities to improve company performance via operations system performance and related activities. Documents processes and technical specifications for the system protection schemes. Manages multiple internal and external clients and acts as a second tier of support to less senior engineers. Plans, architects and designs complete systems in development. Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more protection areas and provides oversight to less senior engineers. Independently completes assignments of broad scope and complexity with few precedents or standards, and assignments that require integration of information from a variety of sources. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelors Degree in Engineering-Electrical or job-related discipline or equivalent experience Experience in system protection, 9 years Desired: Masters Degree in Engineering-Electrical or job-related discipline or equivalent experience PE-Professional Engineer license Record of membership in IEEE-Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers #J-18808-Ljbffr Pacific Gas and Electric Company
