Vituity Locations: Vituity has opportunities at 475 sites across the country, serving 9 million patients a year. As part of the Vituity Scribe Program, there are multiple opportunities to fit your needs, including gaining experience in units such as the Emergency Department, Intensivist Care, Telemetry and Medical-Surgical.


The Opportunity

• Firsthand exposure to a clinical setting for undergraduates or post-baccalaureate students pursuing a career in healthcare.
• Great opportunity for students taking time off before Medical, PA, or NP school.
• Scribe hours are counted towards clinical training for most PA and medical school programs.
• Work one-on-one with physicians and other healthcare providers. Become proficient in medical terminology and put you a few steps ahead of someone else that is entering the same program as you and has not had this experience.
• Outstanding networking and resume-building opportunities.

• Completion of scribe application test is required - if applying to more than one scribe position, you are not required to take the eSkill assessment test beyond the first time unless wanting a better score from your first time.

Required Experience and Competencies

• Responsible and mature demeanor with a passion for medicine.
• Strong writing skills.
• Quick and accurate typing speed.
• Experience with medical terminology, human anatomy, and human physiology is preferred.
• Each scribe works 2-3 shifts per week (including weekends and a holiday).
• Ability to stand, walk, and follow a physician for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
• One (1) year commitment at this site, continuous one year, not a summer position.
• Excellent follow-through.
• Self-motivated.

The Practice


Doctors Medical Center - Modesto, California

• Level II trauma facility with 33 ED beds and an annual ED patient volume of 100,000+.
• One of the largest tertiary care hospitals in the area as well as a top tier hospital in the community.
• Vituity contract since 1978.
• The hospital provides some of the best sub-specialty coverage in the Valley and is unique as they have their own radiology and other types of services within the department.
• One of the top five cardiology sites in California with a 24-hour catheterization lab.
• Portable GE Ultrasound machine and GE 64-slice CT scanner.
• Extensive on-call panel and subspecialists, including neurosurgery, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, interventional radiology, and more.

We are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $16.00, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual corporate Success Sharing bonus program, which is based on the company's annual performance. If you are hired at Vituity, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience.
