National Feature Photographer/Producer TEGNA, the parent company of 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, is hiring anational/company-widePhotojournalist for a unique role in news. Thisbroadcast journalism photojournalistwill capture stories that highlight the best of the human spirit. These storieswillair and streamnationally on TEGNA-owned TV stations and apps. The photojournalist will travel at least one week a month to different communities across the country with a partner who specializes in this kind of reporting. The ideal applicant for this position is a master at capturing moments and a deeply empathetic, compassionatestoryteller. We are searching for someone who wants to create memorable stories that attract and inspire audiences on every viewing platform. Responsibilities: Produce original, enterprisevideostoriesthatcaptivate,evokeemotionand tell compelling stories. Travelapproximately25%tocover featurestories across the country Produceand editvideosinvertical and traditional horizontal formats. Use a variety of photography tools to tellgreat stories. Use Adobe Suite orEdiusvideo editing software. Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories. Ability toshoot and edit multiplecamerasinterviews. Attend editorial meetings,participatein discussions, andpitchstory ideas. Postvideosto the website,YouTubeand other social platforms. Writeheadlines, abstracts, or social media captions for videos. Drive andoperatenews gathering vehicles to and from various locations. Cover breaking, general, sports, feature, investigative, and political news stories as needed. Perform other tasks asrequired. Reports to Corporate Director of Content, Enterprise. Requirements: Associates/BA/BS in journalism, communications, or related field.Related work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree 3-5 years of photojournalism experience Knowledge of non-linear editing systems,AdobeSuiteorEdiusexperience a plus Proven ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots. SNG experience a plus Live Center/ENG coordination experience a plus Skills in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and After Effects a plus Demonstrated news judgment with an understanding of the tenets of professional journalism. Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines. Pay Range $43.27 - $48.08 USD TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families.
