Diesel Technician

Our Technician is responsible for performing high-quality maintenance and repairs on International Motors and IC Bus vehicles. This role ensures safety, customer satisfaction, and efficient operations by following established repair procedures and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key responsibilities include preparing for service events by reviewing repair orders, gathering necessary information, securing tools, and ensuring timely access to required parts. Technicians must perform maintenance and repairs accurately and safely by following established standardsconducting inspections, sourcing additional information or parts, managing deviations, and returning unused or core parts.

Documentation of work is crucial, including clearly describing completed repairs in the repair order, clocking off appropriately, completing handovers when needed, and coordinating the next job to maintain workflow. Applying technical expertise in troubleshooting, repair methods, vehicle systems, and proper tool usage is essential to service International Truck and IC Bus products.

Maintaining up-to-date product knowledge of International and IC Bus offerings is necessary to align customer solutions with the companys value proposition. Promoting safety and compliance by coaching on best practices, ensuring equipment is maintained, and following all health and safety policies and regulations is also important. Mentoring coworkers and apprentices through hands-on coaching, knowledge sharing, and guidance to encourage skill growth and team success is another key responsibility.

Effective communication with team members, leadership, and customers to promote understanding, build trust, and encourage collaboration is vital. Delivering exceptional customer service by maintaining strong relationships, understanding needs, and providing professional, timely support is also important. Taking ownership of challenges and opportunities by addressing issues promptly, finding practical solutions, and continually seeking process improvements is essential.

General knowledge and skills needed include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of International and IC Bus products and services, applying this understanding to daily tasks and aligning customer solutions with the companys overall value proposition. Applying knowledge of Internationals repair and maintenance procedures, including troubleshooting techniques, technical vehicle systems, tools, and documentation, to effectively service and repair International Truck and IC Bus products is also necessary.

Communicating clearly and respectfully with team members, leadership, and customers to promote understanding, build trust, and encourage open dialogue is important. Motivating and encouraging team members to strive for excellence by fostering confidence, resilience, and a shared commitment to team goals in a supportive and success-oriented environment is also crucial. Upholding and promoting a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment by following and reinforcing safety policies, procedures, and regulations is also important. Utilizing software systems and digital tools effectively to perform job-related tasks, streamline workflows, and support accurate, efficient service delivery is essential.

Desired education and experience include medium or heavy-duty technician, equivalent experience or qualification, applicable certifications related to industry, products, and/or safety, currently maintains or can obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), and International Master Certified.
