College Counselor

Collegiate Directions, Inc. (CDI) is a non‑profit organization founded in 2005. CDI is committed to closing the education, achievement, and opportunity gap for low‑income, primarily first‑generation‑to‑college students. Through its Scholars Program, CDI provides comprehensive college counseling, targeted tutoring, test preparation, study skills, leadership training, and ongoing support, starting in 10th grade and continuing through successful college graduation. CDI also extends its work through the School Support Program, focused on helping school counselors and staff improve college advising and supporting students to find their best‑fit college. Role Description This is a full‑time hybrid role for a College Counselor at Collegiate Directions, Inc. The College Counselor will be responsible for providing college counseling services to high school students, including assisting with college applications, providing student counseling, and helping students with student financial aid. The College Counselor will also be involved in the ongoing support and mentoring of students throughout their high school and college journey. This role is primarily based in Bethesda, MD, with flexibility for some remote work. Qualifications Strong knowledge and experience in college counseling and advising Expertise in college applications and student counseling Knowledge of high school student needs and challenges Familiarity with student financial aid programs and application processes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience working with low‑income and first‑generation college students is a plus Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, or related field Salary/Benefits $50,000 - $55,000 based on experience Competitive benefits package including generous health, 401K, and holiday schedule #J-18808-Ljbffr Collegiate Directions, Inc
