Maintenance Technician - Third Shift Location: Lithonia, GA (Onsite). Shift & Hours: Monday - Friday, 11:00pm - 7:30am Hiring hourly rate: $36.16/hr (+ $0.50/hr shift differential). 2-Year earning potential based on continuous learning progression pay: 6 months: $37.63/hr 12 months: $39.27/hr Griffith Foods is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipes and electrical system equipment to contribute to the production of high-quality food products in compliance with company standards. Responsibilities Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair equipment by identifying issues with machines. Document work orders using CMMS. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Repair and maintain the physical structure of the building. Set up and operate machine tools such as grinder, lathe, drill press, cutting torches or welding equipment. Repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools. Perform PMs (Preventive Maintenance) and PD.M. (Predictive Maintenance) as required and follow up with repairs. Support operations with autonomous maintenance, SOP's, and centerline programs for equipment. Operate a forklift or other PIE as required. Follow NFPA 70, LOTO and OSHA safety rules. Ensure that BRC protocols are implemented and audited as required. Qualifications Associate’s degree or a two-year certificate from college or technical school in Electrical Maintenance Technician, Mechatronics, or an equivalent program; OR high school diploma with three years of experience in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC programming. Experience handling food production equipment, including mixers, fillers, packaging lines, palletizing systems, and bulk delivery systems. Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, including the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; and the ability to communicate with individuals and small groups. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Comfort in entering and working in confined spaces. Working knowledge or the ability to gain knowledge of RedZone software. Working overtime as needed throughout the week, up to and including Saturday work. Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods during the shift. Comfortable working with and around allergens and cleaning chemicals. Must be able to work onsite in Lithonia location. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available for this role. What Will Set You Apart 3-5 years of multi-craft experience (Electrical and Mechanical). 3 months of experience and/or training in a USDA-regulated manufacturing environment. PLC experience. Welding certification. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively. This will require both office and plant environments. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Safely navigate stairs and ladders. The job includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock, wet/humid conditions, high, precarious places, vibration, loud noise; hearing protection is required in designated areas. Dust and odor are present in the environment.
