Senior Customer Facing Software Engineer

The Team You will be joining the newly formed Forward Deployment Engineering (FDE) team within Adobe’s Digital Experience organization. As part of a key innovation initiative, our mandate is to bridge the gap between product engineering and real-world implementation, solving complex challenges for the world’s largest companies. The Opportunity This role allows you to be a technical ambassador for Adobe, splitting your time between deep technical work and on‑site collaboration with engineering teams of global industry leaders. It combines startup‑style excitement with Adobe’s resources and scale, helping build the future of digital experiences and success stories. What You Will Do Design, implement, and co‑own features based on customer requirements, prioritizing performance, scalability, and reliability. Develop production‑ready code for highly available systems, SaaS applications, and RESTful APIs. Ensure high standards of quality, including robust testing and observability. Collaborate effectively with technical leads, product management, and other engineers to deliver solutions that meet business and customer objectives. Contribute to root‑cause analysis during service outages. Stay ahead of the curve on relevant technologies within the Adobe ecosystem and the broader industry. Drive tasks with strong ownership, clarity, and precision. Participate in technical discussions regarding customer needs and implementation approaches. Mentor other engineers on customer‑facing delivery, solution design, and best practices for integrated solutions in production. What You Bring 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong skills in Java or Scala and frameworks like Spring Boot. An inventive mind that seeks the best solutions to the most interesting problems. Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful web services. Solid understanding and hands‑on experience with relational and NoSQL databases. Experience building and maintaining large‑scale distributed systems and data processing pipelines (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Hadoop). Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to model solutions for complex technical challenges. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly. Experience working effectively in cross‑functional teams. Situational awareness and experience handling technical discussions, including navigating differing viewpoints or requirements professionally. A strong sense of ownership, innovation, and commitment to delivering high‑quality results. Comfortable with 10‑25% travel to build relationships with customers. Desired Extras Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Microservice Architecture, Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow. Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript (React/Next.js). Experience with containers and CI/CD systems like Argo CD and GitOps. Knowledge of applied GenAI and ML with proficiency in Python. AI development understanding. Benefits This role is eligible for bonus and equity. Compensation and Location Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and varies by job location. The U.S. pay range for this position is $139,000 – $257,550 annually. In California, the range is $177,900 – $257,550. In Washington, the range is $161,700 – $234,150.
