Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for a Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit. This role involves delivering high-quality care to patients with medical neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize advanced monitoring techniques and technologies in patient management.
• Float across various healthcare facilities as needed to meet organizational requirements.

Schedule

This position requires three 12-hour shifts per week on day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Rotating weekends are mandatory. Staff scheduling is managed over a 6-week period using a self-assist scheduling system.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Experience in Neuro PCU is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certifications are required.
• Proficient in CVA care, external CPAP/BiPAP management, TR band application, and Yale Swallowing screen assessments.
• Previous experience as a Charge RN is preferred.

About the Unit

The unit is a 30-bed Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care department focused on the management of patients with neurological medical conditions. A Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department provides support through continuous surveillance of patient conditions.
